32 Flavors Dance Company storms the stage with their debut performance, The First Taste.
Heralding a fresh change for
the valley’s dance scene, this contemporary dance company integrates
elements of theatre, performance art, and various forms of dance in their
lively work. Featuring choreography by the company’s co-founders and
directors, Meghan Bingle and Lauren Harrison, anything but the norm is
what to expect at this show. What you can expect is to enjoy an
experimental evening of entertainment where each piece seamlessly connects
into the next. From a plethora of Podcasts, to an aspiring and slightly
obsessive housewife, even a barrage of methodical apples; the imagery
never stops. Premiering seven new works, the concert also includes a
re-staging of Bingle’s piece, Airborne in Middle-class Suburbia, which was
first performed at Arizona State University in February of 2006.

Holding their Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from ASU in 2006, ambitious
graduates Bingle and Harrison first concocted the idea of starting their
own dance company in January. After launching an online search and
auditions for their ideal dancers in April, they have been working full
speed ahead ever since. In addition to the masterminds behind 32 Flavors,
the company consists of nine other dancers from the phoenix-metropolitan
area who each bring their own unique flavor and experience to the table.
The First Taste is surely one not to miss.
